Los Alamos First Born Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary June 11

FBPLA NEWS RELEASE

The First Born Program of Los Alamos (FBPLA) is excited to announce our 10th Anniversary Celebration on June 11, 2024, 5:30-7:30pm at the Central Park Square Lawn. The event will include cupcakes, giveaways, raffles and more. The whole community is invited to join in the fun.

Zia Credit Union is sponsoring this event. FBPLA is joining Los Alamos MainStreet’s Tuesday at the Square concert. We are delighted to share this evening with PrideFest as well. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket, grab dinner from one of the Central Park Square restaurants if you like, enjoy the band and spend a great evening with us.

Ten years ago, FBPLA began with 6 families. Since then, we have supported 445 diverse families with a total of 14,537 home visits. Our clients come from all over the world- with about 25 different languages spoken in our families’ homes. Currently our staff includes 6 home visitors and a lactation counselor and lots of specialties like holistic sleep coaching, babywearing, infant massage, car seat safety technicians and more. We also offer classes, group activities, playdates and prenatal retreats.

About First Born Program of Los Alamos:
The First Born Program of Los Alamos is a free and voluntary home visiting program for all families in Los Alamos, prenatal through age 5. The program is relationship‐centered and curriculum‐based. Families who participate receive support, information about pregnancy, early childhood development, health, nutrition and safety and learn fun activities to help build brain development and learning. Through weekly home visits, families identify personal goals, recognize challenges and opportunities for growth and build a healthy, loving, playful relationship with their child. The program is funded through New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department, the Delle Foundation, N3B and local donors. For more information, please visit http://www.firstbornla.org
