  • We have been serving New Mexico families for 27 years, with roots in Silver City, NM.
  • Designed as a universal model, accessible to any family regardless of socioeconomic status.
  • First Born® and More is an established evidence-based model showing improvements in child health and wellness outcomes, prenatally through age five.
  • First Born® and More measures outcomes for maternal and child health, parent and child positive relationships, child development, school readiness, reduction of child maltreatment and family violence, and connects families to resources.

First Born® and More saw a 10 percent increase for families who enrolled prenatally and received prenatal care (100 percent), compared to FY23 (90 percent). This is a difference of 35 percent from the state average of 65 percent, as recorded by New Mexico Department of Health Indicator-Based Information System, NM-IBIS – Health Indicator Report – Prenatal Care in the First Trimester by County, New Mexico and U.S., 2019.

Outcomes for First Born® and More Families
100% of mothers were screened for depression and referred.
93% of children were screened for potential developmental delays and referred.
90% of children received the Ages and Stages Developmental screening and were screened on schedule.
89% of children breastfed 6 months or longer.
89% of caregivers had continuous health insurance coverage.
87% of at-risk families have an active safety plan.
87% of families engaged in discussion about education and employment.

The number of families who received First Born® and More services increased by 7.2 percent, compared to FY23.
